WATCH MARIANNA IANNACCONE’S LECTURE ON SHAKESPEARE, GIORDANO BRUNO, AND JOHN FLORIO

At the John Florio event, which took place in Florence on September 12, Marianna Iannaccone, founder of John Florio’s official website, with the lecture From translation all science had their off-spring has analysed the various research studies that over the centuries have underlined Giordano Bruno’s influence in Shakespeare’s works, in particular Love Labour’s Lost and Hamlet. This analysis today has almost completely disappeared, leaving a void in the understanding of these works. John Florio, who lived for two and a half years with Giordano Bruno at the French Embassy in London, is the key to understand this important connection that generated some of the Bard’s most important works.
